Heartfelt Blessings is a free, daily email service designed to send a little goodness out without any kind of agenda or cost attached. Created by Kate Nowak, Heartfelt Blessings is part of the World
Wide Blessing Project she created in early 2006 as a way of reaching out to bless the world. To learn more about the project and how you can be involved, please visit the project's interactive site

People today are looking for God. During a recent question-and-answer session, a student asked me why we can't find God. I told him he can't find God the way a thief can't find a policeman. He's not's looking for Him.
"I then suggested that every morning the students write the word Good on a blackboard and then go out and do something for someone, expecting and getting nothing in return. Nothing is zero, so when you get home, scratch a zero out of your word and you will find God.
— Red Skelton, comedian as taken from Laws of Love, by Margaret Pounders
The comedian turned philosopher understood that when we take the focus off of our own pains and limitations and seeming absences and focus instead on doing something good for someone else, the world becomes a better place to be. By acting on that inherent goodness within, we bring our thoughts, our feelings and our world back into balance by returning to our own personal zero point, that place in the center of our being where Good minus one "o" resides.
May you always find Good in the goodness you do.
And may you also be aware that you are loved beyond measure and a cherished blessing to me.
Until tomorrow, may your day be filled with all things good,
Kate

I am so glad your husband is better and you are BACK! When my life hit an all-time low in 2001, I resolved to start every day with a positive thought (I may have told you this before) and often you blessings are the beginning of my day. I frequently share them with 50 or 60 of my closest friends as well. Thank you for all that you do. Reply to this

Dear Kate, I signed up again for the blessings experiment, but wanted to share what I have done since I signed up the first time. I got involved,,, I asked if I could help people and they said yes.. and I have been blessed 100 times over. I got involved with the happy factory, and helped with a charity event, where I met more amazing people willing to share blessings. I got involved with the IRC, an International Rescue committee, helping refugees find housing, food, work, education and anew life for their families and friends. I help in any way I can, and feel the blessings coming back at me, at light speed. I take them leftovers, I ask friends for donations of clothing or food. I gave my Christmas bonus to the Road Home, a homeless shelter here in Salt Lake, and gave my family cards, letting them know what I had done with my Christmas "shopping money". They all got a small flannel diaper and a gold safety pin,, It's all about a baby, written on the card.
I smile, I give people rides, I share my lunch, I am trying to remember the names of all the refugees and their family members. They seek me out to show me things, to bring me things,, I give those things to others if I can't use them. I have gathered fabric, yarn and textiles for the refugees, and have seen the wonderful ways they use every scrap. I am helping them in a Fair Trade shop to share their talents with others.. Please note that I am not doing all of this alone,, and now I have friends, family members, even friends of my children all asking if they can help me with my "next charity event". they all know there will be one.
The Red Cross needs donors, but more than that, they need volunteers to arrange blood drives. The Bone Marrow Donor program needs donations,, but more than that, they need YOU to be tested, so you may save a life with a bone marrow transplant. The refugee centers in your town need people to teach English and hygiene and business and life skills to people from around the world. The lady next door needs help with her shopping. The widower on the other side, needs someone to cook for him a couple of nights a week. The children in your life need someone to read to. The women in your life need a bright smile, and a cheery hello, and for YOU to offer toshare your blessing of time and talent with them.. Look around,, there are amazing people all around you,,,
and they are all blessing you, just for noticing!
sorry to get on my soapbox,, but this is my message every day now... Get out there and help..... Reply to this
Thank heaven for your soapbox! Your everyday message is one everyone needs to hear every day. If we could only begin to understand that the biggest blessing that can ever be received is the one that results when we give from the heart. When we step away from our preconceived notions, our judgments and labels, our own petty pains and concerns, and even our own comfort zones, we step into an open and abundant field of blessing and being blessed. Having all the money in the world and being able to write a check for millions of dollars to help some cause is wonderful of course, but these are not the gifts that truly change the world. It is the small, repeated gifts we give, those wrapped in unconditional love and sent with heart in hand that make the true difference. These are the blessings we hand out that come back to us a million fold, again and again and again.
Thank you so much for your post.
You truly are abundantly blessed with all things good,
