Heartfelt Blessings for March 25th: Peace Work
You may listen to today's blessing here: Played: 363 | Download | Duration: 00:02:31 Peace Work
"Each day 40,000 children die of hunger. The superpowers now have more than 50,000 nuclear warheads, enough to destroy our planet many times. Yet the sunrise is beautiful, and the rose that bloomed this morning along the wall is a miracle. Life is both dreadful and wonderful...If in our daily life we can smile, if we can be peaceful and happy, not only we, but everyone will profit from it. This is the most basic kind of peace work.
Let's face it, the world is a mess. God didn't make it that way. We did. But until we realize that world change is not going to occur at the hands of governments or organized protests, the mess has no real chance of getting cleaned up. No election is going to save us. No new super power is going to make everything good again, and no war on anything is ever going to bring peace. Real and lasting change depends on people, not governments. It depends on people who are courageous enough to forgive their neighbors and love their enemies and look around them and see miracles everywhere. It depends on people who understand, as Mother Teresa did, that all works of love are works of peace. It depends on you and me. May you always have the courage to change to world.
And may you always be aware that you are loved beyond measure and a cherished blessing to me. Until tomorrow,May your day be filled ![]() A new Heartfelt Blessing is sent out daily. If you would like to subscribe please fill in the form below. Thank you. |

Karen Armstrong Calls for Compassion
The remarkable religious scholar, Karen Armstrong, explains her TED wish (which she recently won - along with $100,000) -- that the TED community help establish a Charter for Compassion to help restore the Golden Rule as the central global religious doctrine. People want to be religious, she says; we should act to help make religion a force for harmony -- a source for peace in the world versus a cause for war. This is truly a beautiful and awakening blessing. If we can all learn to accept the world as it is would surely be a nicer place to our eyes. When we are positive about life no matter what, we with or without our knowledge are emitting positives vibes thus sending a peaceful feeling to people around us. God Bless Our Earth
