There Is No One Better

"During my second year of nursing school our professor gave us a quiz. I breezed through the questions until I read the last one: 'What is the first name of the woman who cleans the school?' Surely this was a joke. I had seen the cleaning woman several times, but how would I know her name? I handed in my paper, leaving the last question blank. Before the class ended, one student asked if the last question would count toward our grade. 'Absolutely,' the professor said. 'In your careers, you will meet many people. All are significant. They deserve your attention and care, even if all you do is smile and say hello.' I've never forgotten that lesson. I also learned her name was Dorothy"

We are no different from our neighbor, no matter what we may have come to believe. There is no distinction of class or race or sex or age or anything else, except for those distinctions we have created in our minds. We are all spiritual beings living through a human experience and every single one of us is entitled to the love, respect and acknowledgment of everyone else. Anytime we choose to experience superiority or inferiority, we are choosing to live within our own limited perceptions. To choose again, and truly embrace the realization of equality among all is to step into freedom and limitlessness of being. It is to step into joy.

May you always be willing to choose again any time you feel superior or inferior to anyone else.

And may you always be aware that you are loved beyond measure and a cherished blessing to me.
